  • Types of saboteurs 
    • Intentional
      • Looking for a response that fills an unhealthy need in their life.
      • Not a friend. You need to evaluate their role in your life.
    • unintentional
      • May take responses to their statements personally and emotionally.
      • Evaluate the dynamics of your relationship and focus on dealing with the saboteur's statements in a way that is positive and emotionally healthy.
  • Coping mechanisms
    • Join support groups and work on strategies to deal with unintentional saboteurs.
    • Identify and avoid saboteurs during wellness detoxing during the holiday season.
    • Set parameters for meetings and interacting with both types of saboteurs.
    • Have answers prepared for saboteur's comments and questions such as:
      • Why don't you take a cheat day
      • Did you lose any weight?
  • Why do these type of people sabotage?  It could be because of the following:
    • Insecure
    • Jealous
    • Selfish
